How to Create a Campaign to Get More Facebook Followers
Facebook is a great tool for some businesses to drive additional traffic and revenue. If you haven’t started utilizing social marketing, don’t know where to start or are looking for some inspiration, then this post is for you.
In this example I would like to show you how Land’s End is getting more Facebook fans but offering an incentive. Also I would like to note the very good execution of this campaign, the continuity of their message. Each page (step) followed the previous one using the same tone, colours and message.
At the time I became a Land’s End Facebook fan, Land’s End had 229,664 fans and that number quickly rose to current 254,471 fans as of writting.
1. Subject line – Lands’ End fans on Facebook can win a $100 gift card
2. Email newsletter

3. LandsEnd Facebook fan page – step 1. Notice that Land’s End has created a page called “Coupon” for their fans.

4. Thank you page after I became their fan.

5. The next step – entering for the competition page.

6. Last step – confirmation of entry received.

Excellent post Jan.
This is a great method for boosting existing Facebook fans.
One of the methods I’ve used for launching a brand new fan page is to use a business profile to drive traffic to the fan page.
In my experience, getting people to friend you is fairly easy. So, I use the business profile to make a number of friends. The business profile is where I build relationships with people, often discussing non-business stuff.
The fan page is then reserved specifically for business items.
Once the profile has a good following of fans, I’ll go to the fan page, click the “suggest to friends” link and suggest the fan page to friends on the business profile.
It’s a great way to not only build meaningful relationships with people, but also a great way to quickly build your fan list.
A really good idea that nicely integrates into Facebook; a very clever idea.
How do you make a thank you page work on Facebook after becoming a fan? Is there a how to anywhere?
Karrie, good question. I don’t know how they did it. I suggest to talk to Facebook about it.Jan
